“Ukraine faces significant challenges in terms of population, armament, and economic resources to prolong the war effort.”, he hypothesized.
Vance and co. are pushing a false narrative. This is not a war where two opponents have decided to fight against each other and where Ukraine somehow wants the war to continue. Ukraine has no option but to defend itself against an attacker to survive.
This is a war where an autocrat has decided that he is going take Ukraine and other former parts of the Soviet Union as a part of “restoring an empire”, no matter the cost. Putin has no interest in negotiations or concessions.
Vance fails to explain how Putin, or his successor, would be trusted or prevented from taking more of Ukraine, once he has had time to rest and replenish his forces.
If someone was trying to steal my car by killing the driver and the passengers, I’d hate for Vance to turn up at the roadside and suggest that I must give up the engine.
