🇰🇵 North Korea may send its soldiers to war against Ukraine. Ministry of Defense of South Korea comments.
“Since Russia and North Korea have signed a mutual agreement similar to a military alliance, the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine is very likely,” South Korean Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun said.
Not sure what North Korea would gain from this.
South Korean news agency Yonhap, citing the country’s intelligence, reports the transfer of 12,000 military personnel to Russia, including special forces units.
The soldiers are currently at Russian military bases in Vladivostok, Ussuriysk, Khabarovsk and Blagoveshchenka. They are expected to go to the front lines soon . They have already been issued Russian military uniforms and weapons, as well as fake IDs of residents of Yakutia and Buryatia .
North Korean soldiers will fight under the guise of Buryats and Yakuts according to Yonhap.

The president of South Korea called an emergency meeting due to the transfer of North Korean troops to Russia.
Bloomberg reports.
President Yoon Seok-yeol called an emergency security meeting on Friday to discuss the latest developments, which his office called a “serious security threat to South Korea and the international community,” the agency said in a statement.
