Israel handed over to Ukraine an early warning system for missile attacks.
Ukraine has received an early warning system for air attacks known as Tzeva Adom from Israel, the Jewish state’s ambassador to the country, Mikhail Brodsky, said in an interview with Dzerkalo Nedeli. According to him, the process stretched “for many months,” but now it can be considered completed. “We have fulfilled our promises and handed over to the Ukrainian side everything that we must transfer,” he stressed.
When asked why this system has not yet worked, Brodsky noted thatthe Ukrainian side is already responsible for its implementation. He recommended contacting the relevant departments for comment.
The ambassador was also asked whether Ukraine can count on the old Patriot systems, which Israel is going to remove from service, since they were transferred by the Americans back in the early 1990s. Brodsky said that there is no final decision yet, because now Israel needs all air defense systems to repel missiles from Iran, Yemen and Iraq. he added.
The fact that Israel is working to transfer an early warning system for air attacks to Ukraine became known in 2023. It is capable of detecting missile and drone launches, calculating the trajectory of their flight and calculating the coordinates of the crash site with high accuracy. This narrows the radius of the potentially dangerous zone for people at the time of shelling. The system also determines how much time endangered residents have to find shelter.
Tzeva Adom trials in Kyiv beganĀ in the spring of 2023. Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel Yevhen Korniychuk expressed hope that it would be deployed in six cities of the country with a population of more than a million people.
